The Bear River Canal Company was started in 1890. Our purpose is to manage our 5 canals. Hammond East, Hammond West, East, Central, West. Our water originates from Cutler Dam and travels as far south as Forest Street. Serving water users in Box Elder County. Bear River Canal Company maintains a database of water share holders, collects maintenece assessments, share fees, Assigns water turns, manages a lease pool, maintains the canal system, and oversees the use of water turns. Bear River Canal Company does not sell or buy water shares. All shares currently allocated are owned by share holders.
